SPEAKERS
Tero Sade M.Photog

From humble beginnings, a rented house, $3000.00 capital and no experience 22 years ago, Tero has become one of the nations most successful photographers and business operators.

Known for his innovative (some say aggressive) marketing, Tero has promoted successfully in practically every market segment there is from mass shopping centre portraits, itinerant glamour, to high end boutique portrait and weddings.

Having reached the stage of employing a team of 12, and operating out of 400+ sq. meter state of the art studio in Brisbane, Tero and wife Julie took a step back to re-examine their own business and personal goals in late 2003 and made some decisions that would have a drastic effect on their lifestyles.

Today they run a small but highly profitable studio in Tasmania with the emphasis on balance. Tero will talk about the roller coaster ride of the previous 22 years, his simple philosophies on business and how he and Julie are close to achieving the model studio. Their goal this year is to work three/four days per week for 40 weeks of the year and achieve income that would make most professions envious.

Darren Jew

Having been inspired to explore a career in nature photography by my father's travels in Antarctica, I now pursue a passion for capturing and sharing the wonder of the natural world.

After graduating from the Queensland College of Art, I first worked in commercial photography, before taking up a position as photographer with the Queensland National Parks and Wildlife Service, where I worked for 8 years.

I moved on from that part of my career in 1994 and my work is now published widely in books, magazines and paper products. I've had the opportunity to photograph extensively across Australia and in Africa, Alaska, Patagonia and Antarctica and have introduced many people to the world's great wildlife and landscape destinations first hand, through small group photography tours, predominantly to Africa and Antarctica.
